East Asian Arts and Crafts
Calligraphy, you may have heard about it. But if you don't know what it is, it is basically art that is related to writing. It is the design and execution of lettering with a broad-tipped instrument, brush, or other writing instrument. Materials commonly used in making calligraphy are brushes, or pens. In this blog I am gonna tell you how to do some basic Korean calligraphy.
First of all, materials. The materials I used are:
- Brushes
- Canvas
- Paint
- Pencil
Of course, you can do this on paper, Oslo paper is a good choice (I didn't have any oslo paper lying around so I used a canvas instead) Brushes can be a different size from what I used. The pencil is optional, you can go straight to painting it. (Video is down below). (P.S. sorry about the orientation of the video. I can't place the phone in a landscape orientation, without, falling occasionally.)
This is my final output! I am pretty satisfied with my work and I hope you are too. And that's it, I guess I'll see you next time!
Bye!
